Aerial Platform With 2 Workers Swings Like Pendulum In Strong Wind And Smashes Into Building

This is the shocking moment an aerial work platform swings like a pendulum in severe weather and smashes into the front of a skyscraper with two workers cowering inside.

The incident was filmed in the city of Wuhan in the Chinese province of Hubei on 10th May.

According to the news site Baidu, netizens broke the news that workers were trapped inside an aerial work platform that was being buffeted by strong winds and swung into a building several times.

After first appearing on social media, the head of the Wuhan Metro Group later confirmed that there were two workers in the platform who had been rescued.

Eyewitnesses said the construction team managed to hook the platform and drag the two workers to safety before the emergency services arrived on the scene.

The swinging platform reportedly smashed building windows, however no injuries were reported.

Baidu said the workers, from the Hubei Gaoyi Decoration Engineering Co., were carrying out a second phase of work on a building on Sanyang Road in Wuhan.

The local authorities have confirmed that the incident is under investigation.

In the footage, the platform is seen swinging wildly in the strong wind and crashing into the front of a building, smashing at least one large window and sending broken glass to the ground below.
