Arsonist Who Sets Fire And Escapes Framed By Police Drone Cameras

An arsonist who was caught starting a fire in a wooded area on a drone camera was arrested by the Italian police.

The arsonist, which turned out to be a farmer, was captured with a help of a drone camera in the commune of Montesarchio in the province of Benevento in Italy last Thursday, 5th of August.

The arson fire which was put out the same evening on the day when it started managed to destroy two hectares of pastures and woods.

The drone camera footage shows the man walking with a lighter in his hand. After starting the fire the at that point unidentified man immediately walks away from the ignition point.

The forestry police, after receiving the footage, immediately started tracking down the arsonist.

The man was then found in an area nearby the ignition point and he was arrested on the spot.

According to the police, the drone cameras were a necessary step in the elimination of wood fires during the summer months.

It was reported that the investigations and the placement of the cameras were carried out based on previous analysis of the incendiary events, with the application of a special scientific method called “Method of Physical Evidence”.

Using this method it was possible to accurately identify the trigger points of fires developed in the past in that area.

As of now, there are no reports on the charges of the arrested arsonist and at the moment there is no indication as to motive.
