These videos show the skills of a beautiful pastry chef who is earning over 1 million GBP per month from an army of followers who want to learn her recipes, despite the fact that many of her creations are not even edible.

Polina Filimonova, 23, better known to her 1.3 million Instagram followers as ‘Pauline Cake’ is making a small fortune with her cake baking skills.

The 23-year-old pastry chef and influencer from the southwestern Siberian town of Berdsk is raking in RUB 120 million (1,183,987 GBP) a month mainly from her online bakery school, according to local media.

Forbes reported that the young pastry chef founded an online pastry school at the age of 19 where she provides the online bakery masterclass.

According to her website, the master class provides its students with the opportunity to learn all the skills necessary to become a master baker like herself for RUB 35,000 (GBP 344) per month.

Polina told Forbes that her career started as a hobby driven by her sweet tooth but eventually became her full-time job.

The stunning chef said that her success began when people started liking and sharing pictures of her cakes which she often uploads to Instagram alongside a picture of herself.

The young chef says that she is primarily concerned with the appearance of the cakes and not the taste, as it’s the appearance of her cakes that draws people in.

She explained: “If we are talking about the visual component, about photos, then we are not very concerned with the taste.”

She went on: “I’m speaking as a person who creates content. When I’m preparing a cake for a shoot I know it isn’t going to be eaten by a customer so its taste isn’t very important.”

However, if the cake is destined for an event then of course the young chef makes sure that they taste just as good as they look.

Polina bakes cakes into countless impressive shapes with one of her recent Instagram videos, which has been viewed 1,167,916 times, showing the process of her baking a space-rocket shaped cake.

Her posts tend to be flooded with comments from Netizens who are taken back by the detailed and unique designs.

Most of her creations are ready in a day but there are cakes that take much longer with some taking weeks to complete.

Despite the huge amount of effort that goes into baking the cakes many of them are not eaten and end up being thrown in the bin.

Polina said: “The smaller cakes we often eat whilst others I give away to friends and acquaintances.

“However, often we spend a long time working on designs and by the time we are finished and the pictures are uploaded to social media they are no longer edible.”

She added: “In this case, the cake has to be thrown away.”

Polina’s most recent video showed her baking a giant doughnut cake and has been liked 67,014 times less than 24 hours after it was uploaded.
