A young Ukrainian couple, who chained their hands to reinforce their love, regretted the idea and parted ways the moment the chains were removed.

Victoria Pustovitova, 28, and Alexander Kudlai, 33, from the Ukrainian city of Kharkiv, was chained up together on 14th February to strengthen their love and get more subscribers on social media.

The idea to be chained allegedly arose after a quarrel when Victoria wanted to pack her belongings and leave the house the couple lived together, and Alexander said he would tie her up if she wanted to go.

The very next day, after the couple got their hands chained together, their hands reportedly started to swell due to poor blood circulation. Victoria had injuries from the tight chains. However, within a few days, the swelling subsided, so they continued the experiment.

After spending 123 days chained together, the couple announced that they had decided to completely break off the relationship after removing the chain. The chain was cut off on 17th June in the city of Kyiv, where it was put on.

According to the news website Gordonua’s report, after removing the chain, Alexander even moved away from Victoria for several metres.

Alexander said, “Before we put on the chains, we knew each other poorly, discussed little and barely talked. Now our communication has improved. We know each other thoroughly, inside out. We are different, we have different views.”

He added, “We were really determined then. The wedding and all that. But it is good that we understood this before we got married, that we are not suitable for each other.”

Victoria said that ‘such love did not suit her,’ and it was her who wanted the breakup.

She added, “I want to return to a full life. I want to do my own thing. I want to realize myself. I think that we will become a good example for people that this should not be repeated.”
