This is the icky moment a cobra coughs up 10 eggs it swallowed as a man holds onto its tail at an Indian villager’s home.

The video was shared on Facebook by netizen ‘Shashank Gattewar’ from the city of Nagpur in the Indian state of Maharashtra who said the incident took place in the town of Mur in the same state.

Except for certain species, snakes can normally eat and digest eggs so it is unclear why the cobra spat out the 10 eggs. However, it was possibly feeling threatened as a villager had hold of its tail.

In the footage, the snake is seen opening its mouth and coughing up two whole eggs before three others quickly follow.

In quick succession, the cobra then coughs up the other five eggs before turning to attack a man who apparently has hold of its tail.

Despite raiding the villager’s eggs, reports said the snake’s captors safely released it into the wild afterwards.
