Cops Arrest Drug Lord In Mansion And Find Painting Of Him Sat Next To Pablo Escobar And Al Capone

Cops have arrested a drug lord at his Costa del Sol mansion, where they found a huge painting of him sat next to Pablo Escobar and Al Capone.

Footage shows how a large team of armed officers enters the suspected drug lord’s mansion at night.

As the alarms in the house went off, the suspect locked himself in his panic room. Meanwhile, the police officers spotted a huge framed painting of the suspect sat at a table with real and fictional mobsters hanging on his wall.

The footage shows how the unnamed man lived a life of luxury. He had an outdoor swimming pool and his mansion was full of safes containing jewellery and large quantities of cash.

The arrest was one of 14 simultaneous arrests made in Spain’s Malaga and Seville provinces and in the autonomous city of Ceuta by the Spanish Civil Guard and the Spanish National Police.

Their investigation had the support of Interpol and involved over 350 personnel.

The 14 suspects are believed to belong to one of the most active criminal organisations dedicated to cocaine trafficking on the Costa del Sol.

The arrests were the culmination of an investigation that began in April last year, when cops intercepted a van carrying 80 kilogrammes (12.6 st) of cocaine.

The officers followed the vehicle to a flat, where they seized a further 1,380 kilogrammes (217 st) of the substance and made five arrests.

Weeks later, the police intercepted a vehicle carrying an arsenal of firearms – including two assault rifles – belonging to the same group.

The final blow to the group came in mid-June this year, when the 14 arrests were made, most of them in the city of Marbella. Cops also seized 12 vehicles along with weapons, money and drugs.

The thirteen other men arrested are believed to be the mansion owner’s subordinates.

The group laundered its money by buying thoroughbred horses.

Eleven of the suspects have been taken into preventive custody.
