Dramatic Moment Chicago Cop Turns Alley Corner And Is Shot By Armed Suspect

This is the dramatic moment a Chicago cop chases after an armed man down an alley, turns a corner, and is shot in the shoulder before colleagues reportedly gun down and kill the suspect shortly afterwards.

The officer-involved shooting took place near 2500 W. 46th Street in the city of Chicago in the US state of Illinois on 25th March, and the footage was shared by the police last week.

The Chicago Police Department (CPD) said officers were responding to a call of gunshots being fired with injuries when two officers spotted the suspect fleeing the scene and chased him on foot.

When one of the cops turned a corner and encountered the suspect, the armed man fired and hit the officer.

In the footage, a colleague is seen assisting the injured cop and dragging him to safety before checking on the seriousness of his gunshot wound.

The police said the suspect also shot at other responding officers who continued to chase him.
