Escaped Lion Chills On Roof Of Moscow Home

This is the moment a lion chills on the roof of a house on the outskirts of Moscow, causing panic among locals.

The incident was reported in the village of Kozino on the outskirts of the Russian capital Moscow on 27th March.

One of the clips shows the lion sitting on the slanted roof of a house and looking curiously at the person filming.

The owner of the big cat, identified only as Natalya in local media outlet Life, said the lion had not escaped but was already at her home where she jumped on the roof.

The lion was reportedly returned to a caged area after bystanders called the authorities.

Natalya said it was the first time it had happened and local police have also confirmed that the large feline had not left the owner’s property.

Natalya said neighbours shared the clip to cause trouble because they always argue about parking spaces.

Natalya’s partner Pavel Sizov said that the lion is called Tara and is a year old.

He said: “This is the only lion that is legal in our suburbs. That is, it was bought legally and she has all the necessary documentation, complies with all the rules, and was imported with all the necessary paperwork. She is also kept under veterinary supervision.”

Pavel added that they decided to strengthen security and put in more netting after the footage was widely circulated.

Natalya and Pavel run a centre to help animals in difficult situations, explaining that Tara was abandoned by a photographer when she was no longer a cute cub so they took her under their wing.
