Escaped Ostrich Calmly Moves With Cars Along Busy Chinese Motorway

This is the bizarre moment an escaped ostrich runs along a busy Chinese motorway.

The runaway big bird was filmed in the city of Foshan in the south-eastern Chinese province of Guangdong on 21st June.

According to the news site Baidu, the police and the ostrich’s owner worked together to capture the bird after it escaped.

At first, two cops were called to the scene to deal with the traffic chaos and help catch the ostrich.

Meanwhile, the bird’s owner, name not disclosed, rode a motorbike to catch up to the ostrich as it weaved among the traffic and managed to bring it under control.

Traffic cop Wen Caiqin said the police tried to capture the big bird before the owner arrived but were unable to do so.

However, when the owner rocked up on his motorbike, they were together able to bring the ostrich under control, but not before it roamed the streets for several minutes.

The footage shows the bird running along a central lane on a busy Chinese motorway.

In the second clip, a motorist is heard laughing as he films the ostrich walking among cars on the road from inside his vehicle.

The third video shows the ostrich walking along the side of a dual carriageway as motorists drive slowly past.
