EVACUATION HORROR: More Than 30 Dead As Rocket Strike Targets Fleeing Civilians At Train Station

At least 30 people including four children were killed in a shocking Russian missile strike on a Ukrainian railway station packed with thousands of evacuees.

Chillingly, one missile’s casing had ‘For (Our) Children’ daubed on it in Russian in white paint.

More than 100 were said to have been injured in the blast at the station in Kramatorsk, in Donetsk Oblast (province), in eastern Ukraine, at 9.20am this morning.

The platforms were packed with civilians trying to flee to safer areas when the missiles landed.

Graphic images show bodies scattered all around the station with children’s prams and clothes.

Some bodies are covered in tarpaulins, while others are clearly visible.

Around 4,000 people – mostly mothers, children and the elderly – were believed to have been at the station at the time.

Minutes after the blast, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces shared photos of dead bodies on the ground with the message: “Over 30 people were killed and more than 100 were injured in the rocket attack at Kramatorsk railway station.”

The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) posted a photo of the rocket wreckage and said: “That’s how the Kramatorsk railway station was shelled today.”

Three minutes later, the AFU shared a video showing a number of dead bodies strewn across the ground outside the train station with the message: “Kramatorsk now.”

The horrific missile strike has set off a war of words between opposing forces.

The pro-Russia self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) – close to the attack – blamed the strike on “Ukrainian militants”.

In a statement on Telegram, the DPR said: “A missile attack was launched in the area of the railway station in Kramatorsk where the local population was being evacuated.

“The wreckage of the Tochka-U rocket fell in the immediate vicinity of the station.

“This obsolete Soviet missile system is not in service with the DPR, LPR [Luhansk People’s Republic] or the Russian Federation.

“It is actively used by Ukrainian militants.”

The DPR added: “The TRK ‘Tochka-U’ is a Soviet tactical missile system capable of delivering strikes at a distance of up to 70 kilometres.

“The system is capable of launching missiles with conventional, nuclear, and chemical warheads.

“Take care of yourself and your family, try not to leave the house unnecessarily. During the shelling, do not leave the shelter.”

Kremlin officials also denied responsibility for the outrage.
