Female Cop Drags Alligator Back To Pond After It Chomped Into The End Of A Broom

This is the moment a woman police officer in Florida drags a four-foot alligator from a resident’s garden back to its nearby pond on the end of a broom that the alligator had sunk its teeth into.

The incident was filmed in Hillsborough County in the US state of Florida on 29th April.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said on Facebook: “Deputy Wheaton saved another gator! That’s right… the same deputy from the beginning of April that helped relocate a 10-foot gator ended up at another gator call that was oddly very similar! We’ve officially changed her name to Crocodile Dun-Wheatee!

“Deputy Wheaton, Deputy Noland and Deputy Morrey responded to a call for a gator under a car in a Tampa neighbourhood in District I.

“The gator was approximately 4-foot and had wandered from a nearby pond located behind the homes. It was found taking a snooze in the shade under a car.”

The police said Officer Wheaton was determined to get the large reptile back in its pond and she used a broom to help it along.

The Sherriff’s Office continued: “She was using a broom to navigate it in the correct direction and eventually, the gator latched onto the broom and went for a joy ride to the pond. Deputy Wheaton pulled it back home safely – no one was injured.”

The police reminded citizens that it is mating season for the alligators and that they become “more visible and active during the spring and summer”.
