This is the moment an embarrassed gran is caught enjoying a KFC with her grandson after encouraging her daughter to take her time shopping because she had a nice healthy meal prepared for the lad at home.

The boy’s mother was therefore surprised when she spotted them at a KFC restaurant in the city of Jinhua in the eastern Chinese province of Zhejiang and grabbed her mobile phone to film them on 22nd August.

According to local media, the grandmother had fibbed to her daughter, telling her to take her time shopping for beauty products because she had a nice healthy meal prepared for the boy at home.

But in reality, home cooking was never on the menu, and instead, she had then taken the boy into town where she treated him to a fast food meal at the KFC restaurant, not realising that she was in the same area where her daughter was doing the shopping.

She soon got her comeuppance when her daughter spotted her entirely by chance tucking into fried chicken and chips while walking past the front of the KFC.

The daughter filmed the pair through the window, and the grandmother’s funny reaction was caught on camera.

At one point, the red-faced gran even tried to cover her face with her handbag.

In the footage, the mother films her son tucking into French fries with his nan next to him, both seated in front of the store window.

The young lad notices his mother outside and points her out. As soon as his nan realises she has been rumbled, she hides her face with her handbag and ducks behind her grandson.

Apparently confused, the boy scowls at the camera while his gran tries to cover her face.
