Fighter Jet Draws Infamous Z In Sky As Russia Claims Destruction Of Ukrainian Military Installations And Equipment

This footage appears to show the infamous letter ‘Z’ drawn in the sky, with Russian fighter jets allegedly targeting and destroying Ukrainian military installations and equipment.

The footage allegedly shows what appears to be a Russian fighter taking off from a runway. Then the footage shows what appears to be the letter ‘Z’ drawn in the sky, the implication perhaps being that it was supposedly painted by the contrail – vapour trail – of the jet in the sky.

The footage then cuts to what appears to be an aerial targeting system with its sights trained on at least eight ground vehicles, which appear to be military lorries. At least one person appears to be walking by one of the vehicles when there is a large explosion and a cloud of smoke as the vehicles are hit. It is unclear if the person seen in the footage survived.

The camera then cuts to what appears to be a zoomed-out view of the scene, showing flames and smoke emanating from the area of impact. Multiple other land vehicles can then also be seen in the frame.

The footage then cuts again and shows a fighter landing on a runway, with two small parachutes deploying behind it to slow it down as the footage ends.

The images were obtained by Newsflash from the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) yesterday evening (Thursday, 24th March). The Russian MoD claims: “Su-34 crews of the Russian Aerospace Forces destroyed military facilities and military equipment of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

“Bombing on discovered ground targets was carried out from medium altitudes.

“Car parks of military equipment, armoured vehicles and weapons depots were hit.

The footage was also published by the Russian state-run news agency TASS and other media outlets toeing the Kremlin’s line.

After attending the summit in Brussels, US President Joe Biden, who is now heading to NATO member Poland, which is welcoming the bulk of the refugees fleeing Putin’s war across the border in Ukraine, announced a further USD 1 billion in humanitarian aid, to help displaced people in Ukraine and Poland with the influx of refugees.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has again pleaded for further assistance, asking for planes, tanks, rockets, and other weaponry. He told NATO that Ukraine is fighting for “our common values” and that the most powerful military alliance in the world could prevent further deaths.

The Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) recorded 2,571 civilian casualties in the country, with 977 killed and 1,594 injured, but it also added that it believed that the real number was considerably higher.

There are signs that Ukraine is beginning to go on the counteroffensive as NATO estimates that between 7,000 and 15,000 Russian troops have now been killed. These numbers come after a man allegedly threw a Molotov cocktail at the Kremlin in Moscow.

The Secretary General of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg, has said: “Ukraine has the right to self-defence under the UN Charter. And we are helping Ukrainians to uphold this fundamental right.”

The UN’s International Court of Justice has ruled Russia’s invasion of Ukraine illegal and has ordered Putin to remove his troops immediately.

Former British Prime Ministers Sir John Major and Gordon Brown have called for the creation of a Nuremberg-style international tribunal to investigate Putin. Former Prime Minister David Cameron has said: “Putin belongs in a war crimes tribunal.” While the current UK Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, has said: “Vladimir Putin has already crossed the red line into barbarism.”

The proposal has also been signed by numerous influential figures, including the Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba and American lawyer Benjamin Ferencz, who is 102 years old and who prosecuted Nazi war criminals during the Nuremberg Trials after Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler’s defeat.

Ferencz obtained death sentences against members of SS mobile death squads called the Einsatzgruppen, which committed atrocities in Eastern Europe between 1941 and 1945, killing 2 million people, 1.3 million of them Jews.
