Fire Threatens Wetlands Of Rio Da Prata In Brazil
Wetlands of Rio da Prata, Brazil, 7th July
A video of a mapping drone from the Neotropical Foundation of Brazil verified a fire at Banhado do Rio da Prata. The fire which began on 7th of July was threatening the wetlands of Rio da Prata, located near the Serra da Bodoquena National Park. The National Park Brigade has been activated to combat the fires. The Neotrópica Foundation also offered assistance in putting out the fire. The activity is being carried out with the help of Grupo O Boticário, as part of the Serra da Bodoquena Observatory initiative, which aims to strengthen conservation efforts and policies on the Bodoquena plateau. The cause of the fire is still being examined.
