This is the moment a Florida cop gives shoes and a sandwich to a barefoot man who was reported for loitering behind a petrol station.

The kind gesture took place at a petrol station in the area of Trinity in Pasco County in the US state of Florida over the weekend.

Officers arrived at the petrol station due to a report of a man loitering behind the main building. When the police started speaking to the man, they realised he was not wearing shoes and appeared down on his luck.

One cop decided to buy a pair of flip-flops from a nearby store and gave them to the man who immediately put them on.

While talking with the man, whose identity has not been disclosed, officers found out that he was also hungry.

The officers then went to the petrol station and got a sandwich for the man.

Giving him the sandwich the officer said “Here you go my man. You’re welcome. You got shoes and you got food. You’re good. You’re welcome. Have a good day.”

A citizen who witnessed the kind act approached the officers and thanked them.

During the conversation, the officer says: “Can’t let a human being walk around with no shoes.”

The Pasco Sheriff’s Office said on Facebook: “We are proud to serve our community and this is a true example of #WeFightAsOne to help those in need in our community. #PascoProud.”

The video, shared by the Pasco Sheriff’s Office attracted a lot of viewers who wrote about the act of kindness.
