This shocking footage shows the aftermath of a Hamas rocket strike that destroyed the house of a footballer and his pregnant wife in Israel who survived because they were inside a bunker.

The video shows the aftermath of the attack as his house appears heavily damaged, with broken windows and fragments everywhere. He also films neighbouring buildings and vehicles that were hit in the attack.

Hours later, he said in a video: “We were inside the anti-rocket bunker, inside our apartment.

“Our apartment was hit by a rocket, it was destroyed. We’re in a state of shock. It’s something out of the ordinary.

“I’m very shaken, the most awful thing was listening to things burning after the explosion. We were scared the fire would do something to the house. Firefighters arrived and rescued us.”

He later posted a photo of himself inside a plane and said he is returning to Brazil.

He wrote: “We’re extremely emotionally unbalanced, the sound of that rocket arriving and exploding on our house hasn’t left my head.

“In short, let’s keep praying constantly, Israel needs you right now. There are more Brazilians here who are terrified. We haven’t slept for almost three days because of the attacks.”

Vidal hails from the Brazilian municipality of Campo Largo and has also played for PAS Giannina in Ioannina, Greece, and FK Zalgiris in Vilnius, Lithuania, during his senior career.

He moved to Hapoel Petah Tikva last year and has made six appearances and scored one goal for the second-division side.
