Iran Cops Arrest Four Stunning Models For Not Wearing Hijab At Fashion Store Opening

Four gorgeous Iranian models have been arrested for not wearing hijab after a video was posted online showing them at a fashion store opening.

The event was organised for the opening of a new fashion shop where the owner had hired four models to give it a touch of glamour.

But after the video was shown online, a copy of it ended up with cops from the Law Enforcement Force (LEF) of the Islamic Republic of Iran, or NAJA, who arrested all four models and the shop’s owner.

The arrests took place in the city of Mahabad in the north-western Iranian province of West Azerbaijan on 11th July.

Iran HRM (Human Rights Monitor) said on Twitter: “Four female models who had attended the opening ceremony of a drapery shop in Mahabad, W #Iran have been arrested for not wearing the hijab. The owner of the shop has also been arrested while his shop is sealed off. #HumanRights

The footage shows the gorgeous Iranian models without hijabs at the shop opening and smiling at the camera.

Mahabad’s Public Prosecutor’s Office confirmed that five people, including the store owner, have been arrested and charged with ‘non-observance of customs and morals, unconventional propaganda and non-observance of religious norms’.

Reports said the newly-opened shop was also closed until further notice.

In Iran, 27 state agencies enforce the mandatory use of hijabs for women in the country.

However, in many cases, Iranian women have refused to accept measures to prevent them from choosing their own clothing, prompting a crackdown on hijab use.

In September 2019, the supreme cultural council approved a plan that saw 27 state agencies, including 10 ministries, given powers to enforce the mandatory hijab.
