Israeli Motorists Flee Cars As Palestine Rocket Explodes Near Petrol Station

This is the moment Israeli motorists stop their cars and run for shelter as a siren sounds, seconds before a Palestinian rocket explodes on the street just feet from a petrol station.

The attack took place in the southern Israeli town of Netivot during renewed rocket fire from Gaza, according to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).

CCTV footage shows motorists getting out of their vehicles and running for cover after sirens gave them a 15-second warning to seek cover.

The rocket hits the street just a few feet from one of the stationary vehicles and a petrol station.

According to The Times of Israel, the authorities arrived on the scene to deal with the exploded rocket and a baby was taken to a nearby medical centre for minor injuries as the mother ran to a shelter during the attack.

The IDF said Palestinian terrorists in Gaza fired over 2,500 explosive rockets at Israel on Monday.

The report said 10 Israelis, including a boy, 5, and a girl, 16, were killed in the attacks while hundreds were left injured.

On Sunday, the Hamas-run ministry of health said the Palestinian death toll had reached 197, including dozens of minors, while over 1,200 were injured.

Hamas and Islamic terror groups have reportedly confirmed 20 people in the ranks have been killed, however, the Israeli authorities believe the number is higher.

The IDF also claimed that some Palestinian deaths were caused by their own wayward rockets that fell short and hit areas in the Gaza Strip.

A White House statement on Monday said: “The president expressed his support for a ceasefire and discussed US engagement with Egypt and other partners towards that end.”

However, President Biden also expressed his “firm support for Israel’s right to defend itself against indiscriminate rocket attacks”.
