Kind Tram Driver Stops To Help Turtle Stuck On Tracks
This is the moment a kindhearted tram driver stops on the track to move a struggling turtle at risk of being run over.
The considerate act was filmed in the north-western Turkish province of Kocaeli as tram driver Serhat Topal was passing on his daily route.
According to the news site En Kocaeli, Topal was operating the tram when he noticed a turtle by the side of the track.
The kind tram driver then picked up the turtle and moved it to a safer spot.
Tahir Buyukakin, mayor of Kocaeli, thanked the tram driver for helping the turtle in a tweet on 13th June.
It is unclear how the sea turtle got on the tram track, however Kocaeli Province has coastlines on the Black Sea and the Sea of Marmara.
In the CCTV footage, the tram is seen travelling along the track as the turtle walks along the wall on the other side.
The driver gets out of the tram to help the reptile as it struggles to climb up a kerb.
The tram driver picks up the turtle while it hides in its shell and places it on the path on the other side of the metal fence.
He then gives the reptile a gentle push to move it along before returning to the tram.
