LAPD Use Taser During An Arrest Of A Disobeying Suspect
The LAPD released footage of a use of force incident during an arrest of a suspect who was allegedly breaking a domestic violence restraining order and who refused to comply with the police.
The police responded to a radio report from a suspect who was allegedly breaking a domestic violence restraining order at a house in the 14400 block of Valerio Street in Los Angeles, California on 15th of June at about 8:13 p.m.
When fficers arrived on the scene they saw the suspect standing on the street in front of the building. Eventually, the suspect was identified as 31-year-old Angel Torres from Los Angeles.
When the cops approached and attempted to take him into custody, he refused to comply and resisted physical force. A taser was used to take him into custody.
Torres was taken to a local hospital by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics after the taser deployment, where he was later hospitalized because the attending physician couldn’t rule out the possibility that the force used on Torres was a contributing factor to his medical condition.
Angel Torres was charged with one count of stocking and one count of resisting an officer by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office on 15th of June, 2021.
