Man Breaks Several Bones After Trying To Sneak Into House Party And Falling Down Light Well

A man has broken several bones after trying to sneak into a house party uninvited through the interior patio and accidentally falling 15 metres into the void.

Firemen in the town of Novelda in the Spanish province of Alicante rescued the man from atop a corrugated roof in the light well of a residential building.

The man, unnamed but believed to be around 30 years old, was reportedly trying to gain access to a residence where a private party was being held.

After falling a distance of 15 metres, he reportedly broke his leg and his hip, as well as suffering several contusions.

A resident of the block heard the man’s cries of pain and called the emergency services, who got the callout at 4.31am on Sunday, 20th February.

Responding workers had to go down the building’s light well on ropes to reach the corrugated roof onto which the man had fallen.

When they reached him, they administered him anti-pain medication and raised him on a stretcher before whisking him away to hospital in the nearby city of Elda.

The rescue operation was reportedly over by 6.05am.

The Alicante Firefighting Department took to Twitter to write: “In the early hours of this morning, we rescued a man of around 30 years of age who fell some 10 metres through the light well while trying to gain access to a residence where a party was apparently being held.”
