Man Climbs Building To Rescue Trapped Child During Flat Blaze

This is the moment a brave passerby climbs the front of a building to rescue a two-year-old boy trapped in a burning flat.

The incident was filmed in the district of Shunqing in the city of Nanchong in the southern Chinese province of Sichuan on 19th June.

Local residents called the emergency services when they noticed an old woman and a child trapped in a flat blaze on the fourth floor of a residential building who were calling for help from the window.

A crowd formed on the street and onlookers were concerned the woman was thinking about dropping the toddler from the window to a platform a floor below.

In the crowd, 50-year-old Mr Wang shouted to the old lady: “Don’t throw (the child), I’ll come up right away.”

The brave man then scaled the front of the building and managed to rescue the child.

Local media said the old woman was also rescued by the emergency services soon afterwards.

In the footage, the hero passerby is seen climbing onto the roof of a row of shops before standing on the windowsill of a lower apartment to reach the family in the window above.

The woman then lowers the boy to the man who safely takes hold of the youngster as people cheer and clap from the street.
