Meet The Single Dad Who Takes Daughter, 4, On Every Taxi Job

This is the disabled single dad who takes his four-year-old daughter with him on every taxi job for up to 14 hours a day because no one else can look after her.

Mr Wang works as a cabbie in the city of Shenzhen n the south-eastern Chinese province of Guangdong, earning around CNY 200 (GBP 23) on average.

The dad, who suffered with polio as a child and has a foot disability, recently divorced from his wife and takes care of their daughter on his own as his father passed away and his mother is in ill health.

However, as he cannot afford the girl’s nursery school fees, he has to carry out his job with her in the back seat.

The pair usually spends all day in the car, starting from 6am and returning after 10pm.

The girl is cute and well-behaved and most passengers are fine with her in the backseat with them, according to Mr Wang.

At the end of the trip, the girl usually tells clients: “Thank you for taking my dad’s taxi!”

The pair wakes up at around 6am for Mr Wang to collect the cab before working until 10pm and going to bed around 11pm.

However, the dad said there is not much money left after paying the cab rental fees and apartment rent.

He said he has to work many hours on the road because he lost money on a business when he first moved to Shenzhen and has a lot of outstanding debts.

He said he regrets that his daughter has never been to nursery school because he cannot afford the fees.

Mr Wang said: “My child is everything to me, and I am her only one. We are dependent on each other.

“Although I can’t afford to send my daughter to kindergarten, she is smart and optimistic.

He optimistically added: “I believe our future will get better and better.”
