Moment Firefighters Resuscitate Charred Cat Saved From Burning Building

This is the moment Russian firefighters try to resuscitate a cat that was saved from a burning building.

The feline rescue mission took place after there was a report of a blaze in a 16-storey residential building in the Russian city of Volgograd on 5th July.

The fire posed a threat for the surrounding area and over 20 people were evacuated from their homes and several people suffered injuries.

While firefighters rescued a 9-year-old boy on an upper floor, they found an unconscious cat in the building.

After the boy was brought to safety, firefighters focused on the limp animal.

Believing that the cat lost consciousness because it inhaled smoke, firefighters first gave it oxygen.

After a while, they also poured cold water on the animal to wake it up, which proved to be successful. The cat, named Muryonka, then spent some more time on the oxygen device.

Local media said the fire was completely extinguished and that the cause is currently under investigation.
