Moment Huge Avalanche Descends On Village

This is the moment a huge avalanche slowly roles into a Russian village and the only thing that failed to get out of the way from the snow mass as it inched forward was a Lada.

The avalanche was reportedly the fourth to hit the village of Tsakhur in the district of Rutulsky in the south-western Russian republic of Dagestan in recent weeks. The latest took place on 23rd March.

One resident who managed to film the avalanche said the following in the video: “The road was cleared yesterday, today there is an avalanche again. Tsakhur village.”

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the region, the volume of the avalanche amounted to 24,000 cubic metres and luckily there were no casualties or damage – apart from the car.

Reports said that the Lada Samara car was found under the huge pile of snow.

Earlier, an avalanche swamped the main road leading to the village in Rutulsky District.

In the footage, the enormous wall of snow is seen descending on the village slowly being pushed from the snow behind and narrowly missing buildings on either side.

Other clips show the snow apparently filling a mine area while the authorities are seen working to clear the huge mass from affected roads in and around the village.

Luckily, no one was injured as the cleanup operation continues.
