This is the moment a pet dog accidentally kicks a chair away from its owner and leaves him sprawled on the floor in agony.

The clip was filmed at a home in the city of Taiyuan in the Chinese province of Shanxi, and the footage has been widely shared on the social network Douyin.

According to the news site Weibo, the dog was being disobedient and was begging for more food at the table by standing on the man’s chair.

The dog owner explained that whenever the pooch is being greedy, it stands on a chair and begs at the table.

On this occasion, the man returned with his dinner and tried to move the dog from his seat.

However, the dog kicked the chair away as it jumped down and the man ended up falling backwards onto the floor.

The footage starts with a woman telling the dog to move away from the table as she eats her meal.

The dog however sits patiently on the chair as the man arrives with his dinner and tells the dog to get down.

The man moves in front of the dog and goes to take his seat, forcing the animal off the chair.

However, as the pooch jumps to the floor, its hind legs kick the chair away and the man falls backwards.

He lands hard on his bum and appears to be in some pain as his partner laughs and the excited dog springs around him.
