This is the moment a man is apparently saved by his mobile phone when he moves to put the device in a safe place just as the wall collapses where he was sitting.

The incident was filmed in the city of Guigang in the south-eastern Chinese region of Guangxi while the man was cooking on an outside barbecue.

In the video, the man is seen standing up from a small stool next to the barbecue in front of a wall of a brick wall.

He then takes his phone from his pocket and steps backwards to place it on a nearby stool, out of harm’s way.

However, in that moment, the wall suddenly collapses revealing a body of water on the other side.

The wall falls on the barbecue area while a large section lands on the stool where the young man was just sitting before moving his phone.

Meanwhile, the man backpedals away and watches as a section of wall falls into the water.

He then approaches the wall to inspect the damage as a pal walks over to find out what happened.
