Moment Paraglider Dad Lets Young Son, 4, Take Charge And Steer On First Flight
This is the moment a paragliding instructor takes his four-year-old son on a 30-minute flight and allows him to steer as the proud dad films the trip.
Tamer Adiyaman, who has been a part-time paragliding instructor for six years, carried out the half-hour flight in the area of Asikli Hoyuk in the central Turkish province of Aksaray.
Tamer, who works as a firefighter in the city of Nevsehir, has three children and he was waiting for his youngest Ahmet to turn four before taking him on his debut flight.
Tamer, whose wife is also a paragliding instructor, said: “I love this sport so much and I want my children to be ready to make the Turkish national team.”
Tamer and Ahmet set off from Asikli Mountain near the village of Guvercinlik and spent 30 minutes in the air.
In the footage, little Ahmet is seen steering the paraglider at times during the flight before Tamer takes over and carries out a perfect landing.
Tamer said he has carried out numerous flights in Nevsehir and Samsun provinces and dreams of paragliding in Australia with his family in the near future.
He said: “During the flight, Ahmet said he wanted to steer the paraglider with me and he flew it by himself for a while.
“We landed safely after a nice flight. We really enjoy this sport in our region, and we are doing our best to promote it.”
Although is regarded as an extreme sport he said the reputation was not deserved, saying: “Paragliding is one of the safest sports there is.”
Tamer said: “After each flight, my kids are so excited and want to fly again.
“Their mother also has experience flying with me.”
Meanwhile, little Ahmet said of his first paragliding experience: “I had an amazing flight. I waved a lot. I flew like a bird!
