This is the moment water cascades down the front of a city building like a waterfall after the roof reportedly collapsed, sending the water tank crashing to the ground.

The incident took place in the town of Shizhu in the city of Yongkang in the eastern Chinese province of Zhejiang on 5th September.

According to the news site Sina, the roof of a residential building collapsed and the water tank with it.

The immediate area was flooded with water and several parked cars were damaged. However, no one was reported as injured in the incident.

In the dash-cam footage of a passing motorist, a torrent of water is seen suddenly pouring down the front of the building as a lorry approaches the area.

Water splashes up the front of the opposite block while also cascading down the residential building like a waterfall.

While water still gushes down the front of the building and floods the street, the lorry driver and filming motorist both reverse away from the area.

It is unclear what caused the building roof to collapse and the incident remains under investigation.
