This is the moment a sack trolley full of materials is sent crashing on top of a woman after she left a length of rope hanging loose over the entrance to the lift.

The incident was filmed in the city of Xuzhou in the eastern Chinese province of Jiangsu.

A woman entered the building lift with a sack trolley loaded with materials, and pressed the button to reach her intended destination.

However, she left a length of rope lying across the lift entrance, causing the sack trolley to be hoisted into the air when the lift started to move.

The incident also caused the lift to break down, trapping the woman inside until help arrived.

According to reports, the woman did not have to wait long until engineers arrived to free her from the broken-down lift.

It is unclear if she was injured by the falling materials when the elevator started to move.

In the CCTV footage, the woman is seen wheeling a sack trolley full of materials into the lift.

She reaches across to press the button and the lift doors close, trapping an overhanging length of rope.

The elevator moves and the sack trolley is hoisted into the air, apparently crashing into the ceiling and falling on top of the woman.
