Moment Suspect In Stolen Ambulance Crashes In Ditch During Cop Chase

This is the moment a suspect in a stolen ambulance crashes into a car during a cop chase and ends up rolling over the road barrier and into a ditch.

The car chase was filmed in the city of Joliet in the US state of Illinois on 1st July.

At around 12.45am, the police were called to the Amita St Joseph Medical Center on the report of a man stealing a Wilmington Fire Department ambulance from the parking bay.

En route, the police located the stolen ambulance driven by the suspect, named as Henry McCall, 58, travelling westbound, and attempted to carry out a traffic stop.

However, McCall refused to stop and the chase continued. Officers pursued the stolen ambulance and saw the suspect lose control and crash into a car.

The stolen ambulance then rolled over the road barrier and crashed into a ditch.

McCall fled the ambulance on foot but was quickly arrested without further incident.

The Joliet Police Department said: “McCall and the driver of the vehicle that was struck by the stolen ambulance were transported to Amita St Joseph Medical Center with minor injuries. McCall was transported to the Will County Adult Detention Center upon release from the hospital.

“Henry McCall (58, Joliet) was arrested, booked, and transported to the Will County Adult Detention Facility for the offenses of Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle, Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding, Obstructing a Peace Officer, and Driving While License Suspended.”
