Mum Has Daughters Account Number Written On Her Funeral Pamphlet Asking For Donations To Support Her Studies
Just before she lost her battle with cancer this thoughtful mum arranged for her daughter’s bank account number to be included on her funeral pamphlet so that guests would be able to make donations towards her university fees.
Sonia Campagnolo, 47, an accountant from the Carmignano di Brenta comune in the province of Padua, Italy, lost her battle with cancer earlier this week.
When she realised that she was on the verge of death, Sonia decided that she wanted to do one last thing to help her daughter Lisa Campagnolo, 21, by raising money to cover the costs of her law degree.
Local news site Fanpage reports that Sonia thought that by having her daughter’s IBAN code (Account Number) printed on her funeral pamphlet she would be able to raise money for her daughter.
The pamphlet read: “May your flower be a donation in support of my daughter Lisa Campagnolo.”
Sonia was a single mother who had Lisa at the age of 25 and raised her with help from her own parents.
According to Lisa, her mum worked very hard to ensure that she would have a better life than her mother.
Lisa followed in her mum’s footsteps and pursued a career in accounting but her mother wanted more for her and encouraged Lisa to start a degree in law at the University of Padua.
Sonia was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in December 2019 but continued to work until her illness made it impossible for her to continue.
Lisa, who is now attending her second year of Law School, told Fanpage: “My mum said that only by completing this degree will I be able to be truly independent.”
She added: “I am more determined than ever to finish my degree.”
The funeral will be taking place today (17th June) at a local church in Carmignano.
