NEWS TIP: Bizarre Moment Large Land Mass Rises From Water Like Dough In Oven
This is the bizarre moment a large mass of earth rises from the water’s surface like dough rising in the oven.
The unusual wall of mud appeared in the northern Indian state of Haryana, and footage went viral on social media with the original post amassing over 6 million views on Facebook.
In the footage, a group of onlookers are heard gasping as the mud wall rises majestically from the water’s surface before crumbling away and flattening like a collapsed Yorkshire Pudding.
The cameraperson says: “See how the land is rising. This is a new experience.”
Onlookers suggested that the incident may have been caused by heavy rainfall in the area.
The exact location in Haryana State is still unknown.
Some netizens speculated that the mud wall was caused by the movements of the Indian Plate, a minor tectonic plate straddling the Equator in the Eastern Hemisphere.
However, one online commentator said: “It’s not really due to tectonic activity, but methane trapped in the earth getting released, making the wet layer form a bubble, that is what seems to be happening here.”
It is unclear if the local authorities are aware of the phenomenon and plan to investigate its cause.
