A cop was left in agony when a drugs suspect shot him in the groin at point-blank range during a traffic stop.

Terrifying police dashcam footage of the shootout shows two officers questioning the gunman in a gas station after pulling him over.

Then without warning the suspect opens fire with a handgun from the driver’s seat of his pickup truck in Houston, Texas, USA, on 4th May.

One officer falls to the grounds clutching his groin while his partner fires repeatedly into the truck’s passenger compartment.

The injured suspect – named by police as Jimmy Bryan, 23 – is dragged out of the truck and handcuffed by police reinforcements.

Officials later named the injured officer as J.Sallee who received hospital treatment for his injuries.

Bryan has since been charged with two counts of aggravated assault of a public servant.
