Police In Car Chase With Suspects Who Fire At Them 11 Times

This footage shows Massachusetts police officers engaged in a high-speed chase with suspects who they said fired at them at least 11 times.

The incident took place when the police officers were conducting an unrelated investigation over illegal dirt bikes when they noticed the suspects in the city of Springfield in the US state of Massachusetts on 18th March.

The officers started to follow the suspicious vehicle, a grey sedan with Vermont plates, when they reported shots had been fired at them.

In the video shared by the Massachusetts State Police, the pursuit is recorded from the police helicopter and the suspects’ car can be seen fleeing until the moment it crashes and the two suspects are arrested.

According to the police, 11 shots had been fired at the police vehicle.

The two arrested suspects were identified as Walter Jones and Melvin Rios, ages not reported, while a third suspect managed to escape.

The third suspect, later identified as Elijah Wheeler-Watson, was arrested in the town of Clinton on 21st March.

Superintendent Cheryl Clapprood said in a statement obtained by Clipzilla: “I am very grateful that no one was hurt, and it goes as another one of successful arrests of felons with guns who would undoubtedly kill or injure anyone in their way.

“I’d like to thank the Massachusetts State Police, its VFAS Unit and the Clinton Police Department for their assistance and coordination with our Firearms Investigation and Warrant Apprehension Units.”

The case is ongoing.
