Caged Bears Playing Together At Sanctuary

FOUR PAWS/Clipzilla

Two bears named Rocco and Luna can be seen playing and cuddling after they were moved to neighbouring enclosures in FOUR PAWS which is a global animal welfare organisation for protection of animals under human influence.

Rocco and Luna were rescued and transferred to the district of Muritz in the southern part of the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in Germany after having lived in tiny cages in the Albanian cities of Elbasan and Vlore respectively.

While Rocco’s 12-square-metre rusted metal cage in the private estate where he lived was kept on a concrete floor without any wind, sun or rain protection, Luna was constantly exposed to deafening music and noises from the visitors and rides in the Aulona amusement park.

After the two of them were rescued and arrived in the animal shelter in the city of Muritz in Germany (Luna in 2017 and Rocco in 2019) and settled well in their new home, shelter employees decided to move them to two neighbouring enclosures with the start of the new mating season to get them to know one other.

After the two bears interacted with each other through the enclosures’ fence and stayed close together for days the team decided to put them together.
