Russian Man Stuck In Mexico During The Coronavirus Lockdown Becomes Professional Skydiver

This Russian man who stuck in Mexico during the coronavirus lockdown has become a professional skydiver and now regularly posts incredible videos of his jumps online.

Sergey Aleseevich, 39, said that he “found himself” after he arrived in Mexico at the beginning of the pandemic last year and was forced to stay when the government instituted a lockdown.

Speaking to Newsflash in an exclusive interview, he said: “I arrived in Mexico at the beginning of the covid and I couldn’t go back to Russia because many flights were postponed due to quarantine. Many people lost their money on tickets. So it was an opportunity to find myself and I had no desire to return to Russia.”

He explained that it is not that difficult to become a certified skydiver. He said that all he had to do was a course that includes eight jumps. He added: “You go through a program that includes 8 jumps, during this time you learn to open the parachute, to land, to do some manoeuvres to be in the correct parachuting position, with your belly down.

“This is very important because the construction of the parachute only allows it to be opened from this position.”

He said that he likes to pick out picturesque locations, adding: “Beautiful mountains, oceans, of course when I choose a new location I look where I go, who I go to, why I go.”

Aleseevich says that “flying through the clouds is the same as flying through cotton wool”.

He now earns a living teaching other people to skydive and said that one of his favourite locations was the Maldives because of its “indescribable beauty”.
