Russian OAP, 73, In Flat Cap Wows With Skateboarding In Viral Video
This is the viral moment a 73-year-old Russian man in a flat cap shows off his impressive skateboarding skills to a wowed surf coach.
The video was filmed in the Russian city of Saint Petersburg by surf instructor Max Timukhin who posted the clip on his Instagram page earlier this month where it has been viewed nearly 300,000 times.
The same video was also shared on the social network Reddit where it has gone viral with 3.4 million views.
Timukhin simply accompanied the clip with the Fleetwood Mac song ‘Everywhere’, containing the lyric ‘I wanna be with you everywhere’, suggesting he was impressed with the Russian OAP and his zest for life.
He also said: “Igor (the man in the video) is 73 years old. Igor rides his board since 1981.”
In the footage, the flat-cap-wearing old man is seen showing perfect balance as he whizzes along a city pavement.
However, he clips a kerb at the end and has to jump off the skateboard.
Netizens were also impressed with the OAP’s skills, with Instagram user ‘Mariarrrrrrr’ advising others: “Igor is the best. Be like Igor.”
Netizen ‘Mandla_africa_surf’ agreed, commenting: “Igor, smooth as butter.”
‘Ye.andersons’ wrote: “Moved on and off that board like a young man. Cuz that soul is!”
‘Studiounnurballa’ remarked: “Oh my goodness grandpa! I wanna be you when I grow up!”
