Shock Moment Pit Bull Latches Onto Woman Protecting Her Little Pooch

This is the shocking moment a neighbour’s escaped pit bull attacks two women with small dogs and latches onto one victim’s leg until help arrives.

The dog attack was filmed by a CCTV camera in the district of Curridabat in the Costa Rican province of San Jose at around 12.25pm on 28th July.

In the footage, three women, two holding small dogs aloft, are seen being attacked by an escaped pit bull.

The dog starts biting the ankle of one woman trying to hold her small pooch out of harm’s way, and brings her to the ground while her friend tries to beat the pit bull away.

The struggling woman manages to pass her pet dog to another friend as the pit bull latches onto her leg and refuses to let go.

In the second video, a male neighbour runs to the scene and grabs the pit bull by the head, eventually managing to make it give up its grip on the woman’s leg. It is unclear if the man is the pit bull’s owner.

Meanwhile, another man appears with a big stick, apparently to use as a weapon if need be.

According to the news site Teletica, the dog escaped from a neighbour’s house before attacking the woman.

The incident sparked outrage on social media with many netizens calling for the dog owner to be punished, however, the local authorities have yet to release a statement on the matter and it is unclear if an investigation is even underway.

Netizen ‘AbiRam Das’ commented: “Put the dog down and fine the owner for the victim’s injuries. These people keep these kinds of animals but don’t even know how to take care of them.”

‘Luz Maria Hidalgo Chaves’ said: “The poor dog is not to blame, the owner is responsible.”
