Son Of Argentina President To Tick Non Binary Option On New Paperwork

The drag queen son of Argentina’s president has revealed that they will be ticking the new non-binary option being included on ID paperwork for the first time in the country.

Estanislao, 26, known in Argentina for being a drag performer and cosplayer with the stage name Dyhzy, said on Instagram that they will be ticking the alternative X option on new official documents.

The national government, headed by Dyhzy’s father, President Alberto Fernandez, formalised the use of the non-binary option for passports and the National Identity Document (DNI) earlier this week for people who do not identify as male or female.

In addition to the two genders, applicants can select an X option if, like Dyhzy, they wish to be seen as non-binary.

Dyhzy said on social media: “I do not consider myself a man, I consider myself a non-binary person.”

The president’s son is also expected to change their name on any new documentation, saying about their Christian name Estanislao: “I don’t like it. Never in my life have I felt like I identified with that name. That’s why I don’t even say it and I ask that people don’t call me it.”

Dyhzy, who boasts 438,000 followers on Instagram, added: “When the State recognises a law, the law becomes integrated. Today is no different, it does not attract attention, to see a homosexual couple getting married since equal marriage was approved. This type of right must be recognised by the State.

“People need to deconstruct themselves first, more need to get used to this. Obviously there are evil people, transphobic, homophobic.”
