Stunning Young Brazilian Model Looses Both Her Parents In Car Crash On The Way Home From Graduation
This Brazilian model’s parents died on the same day that they fulfilled their lifelong wish of seeing their daughter graduate from University.
Natalia Soranzo’s mother Ilse Soranzo, 49, and father, Jairo Soranzo, 49, had just left their daughters graduation ceremony when they were killed in a car crash in the Passo Fundo municipality in Southern Brazil last Saturday (14th August).
Natalia’s younger brother, Wilian Soranzo, 16, who was not identified, was also in the car and suffered severe injuries but is reported to have survived the incident.
Local news site RS Agora reports that Natalia’s family left the graduation ceremony where Natalia received her degree in Civil Engineering and agreed to meet their daughter, whose age was not stated, later that evening for dinner.
Shortly after leaving the ceremony, which took place at an events centre in Passo Fundo, the family’s red F-250 Ford crashed into a lorry, killing Ilse and Jairo instantly.
RS Agora reports that Natalia’s brother was saved by emergency services who transferred him to a local hospital where he is currently in a stable condition.
Natalia’s posted on her Instagram, where she has 114,000 followers, saying: “My brother is fine, please pray for us as I’m struggling to find strength.”
She added: “My parents were everything to me, I keep asking myself why this happened.”
Natalia told Newsflash: “my parents biggest dream was to see me graduate”.
She explained that her parents had come from working-class backgrounds and they wanted her to have more opportunities in her life than they did.
She recalls that before her parents got in the car to leave the ceremony she told them: “I love you. Thank you for everything you’ve done for me.”
She added: ” I just wish I had more time with them so I could give more back for all the sacrifices they made for me.”
Natalia also told Newsflash that she wants to thank her followers who she estimates have sent her over 8,000 messages of support.
She said: “I really thank you from my heart, I wish I could thank you one by one.”
Ilse and Jairo Soranzo were buried on Sunday (15th August) near the family’s home town of Liberato Salzano.
Authorities have not released a statement regarding the cause of the crash but did confirm that the driver of the lorry involved in the crash survived.
The investigation is ongoing.
