Tense Moment 3 Burly Russian Men Save 3 Kids From Burning 3rd Floor Flat
This is the tense moment three burly Russian passersby rescue three young children from a third-floor burning flat while standing on a drainpipe, leading to them receiving a community award.
The incident was filmed in the city of Kostroma in the western Russian region of Kostroma Oblast on 6th June.
According to the news site Gazeta, the three children, aged 10, three and two, were home alone when the fire broke out in the third-floor flat.
The children were reportedly playing with a lighter when one of them accidentally set fire to the sofa.
Neighbours called the emergency services, however, three passing men decided the children could not wait any longer for help and leapt into action.
Using a drainpipe and windowsills as support, the trio climbed to various points to form a human chain so they could lower each child down one by one.
As a result of their brave actions, no one was injured in the flat fire.
Firefighters on the scene said they extinguished the flames in just over half an hour, adding that most of the rooms were saved except for the kitchen.
On 11th June, Marina Rozonova, representative for Russia’s Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Kostroma region, said that the three men will be honoured for their brave actions.
She added: “Documents are being prepared for the three men who rescued three children from a fire in Kostroma so the ministry can honour them with departmental awards.”
Meanwhile, the public prosecutor’s office has confirmed that they are investigating the flat blaze as well as the living conditions of the children allegedly alone at the time it started.
