Texas Education Worker Arrested For Sexually Assaulting Schoolgirl, 15
This is the moment an education worker in Texas is arrested for sexually assaulting a 15-year-old schoolgirl.
The arrest took place in the city of Alamo Heights in the US state of Texas on Tuesday.
The footage shows police officers getting out of their vehicles and walking up to the suspect. He can be seen standing next to a car in a driveway in front of a house. The arresting police officers ask him his name and he identifies himself before they put him in handcuffs and escort him back to the police vehicles as the footage ends.
According to the Castle Hills Police Department, the suspect, named as 41-year-old James Wesley Locklin, works for the Alamo Heights Independent School District.
He has been arrested and charged with two counts of sexually assaulting a minor and indecency with a child-sexual contact, according to the police.
The arrest warrant affidavit said the alleged incident took place at a home at the end of July.
Locklin is accused of giving a 15-year-old girl alcohol that she said made her “tipsy” before sexually assaulting her.
According to the affidavit, the victim said she told Locklin that his actions were illegal to which he replied “I know” and continued anyway.
The police said the victim told a close friend about the incident who in turn reported it to their school authority.
Police spokesperson Captain Wayne Waggoner said the suspect was arrested at his home in the city of Castle Hills, but “refused to talk” to officers.
He was later transferred from the local police station to Bexar County Jail.
The police confirmed that due to the suspect’s position with the education authority, where he reportedly worked since 2018, it is possible there could be other victims and therefore the investigation is ongoing.
Waggoner said “the victim is known to the suspect”, adding: “We hope there’s no other victims out there, but if there are please call us if they recognise the suspect.”
Patti Pawlik-Perales, coordinator with the Alamo Heights Independent School District, said: “AHISD is aware of the allegations that have been made and will continue to cooperate with law enforcement. All allegations of misconduct are taken seriously by the District.
“The employee in question has been placed on administrative leave and has not been on any campus since AHISD was made aware of the investigation.”
The police probe continues.
