This is the viral moment a TikToker lets her vegan bestie enjoy a macaron with egg without saying anything, sparking outrage online.

TikTok user Lili shared the clip on her page, where it quickly went viral with 1.6 million views.

Lili told Newsflash that her and her friend Michel, both 23 and from the US state of Texas, remain firm friends despite the online reaction to the clip.

In the footage, Michel is seen enjoying a macaron as the caption reads: “My friend who is a vegan of six years is eating a macaron for the first time and looks so happy, I don’t want to tell her.”

Lili said Michel has been on a plant-based diet for six years, adding: “I didn’t persuade her to have it, we went to a macaron shop and she asked if they were dairy free and they said ‘yes’.

“I think she was just so excited to try a macaron for the first time it slipped her mind that it might have other animal products.

“I took the video as a memory of her eating a macaron for the first time. A while later when I realised they had egg whites in them, I told her and she just laughed it off. I don’t think it affected her at all.”

When asked about the criticism to her viral video, Lili said: “I didn’t do anything bad. Lol. The TikTok reactions are to an eight-second clip so they don’t know what actually happened.”

She added: “What they say does not matter or affect our friendship in any way.”
