Toddler Fractures Skull As LAPD Cops Tackle Fleeing Dad To Ground

This is the moment LAPD cops tackle a fleeing suspect to the ground as he carries his young son, reportedly cracking the toddler’s skull in the process.

The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) released the footage on 13th March after the incident took place in Los Angeles in California on 11th February.

At around 11.20pm, officers noticed a Jeep Wrangler driving dangerously and attempted to pull the driver over.

The motorist sped off and crashed into a flatbed truck before fleeing, prompting a car chase.

Around 11 minutes later, the suspect, later named as Josue Huerta, 25, abandoned the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot, according to the police.

The suspect was then tackled to the ground by arresting officers.

LAPD spokesperson Capt. Stacy Spell said: “Unbeknownst to any officer, the officer was holding a 10-month-old infant.

“Officers were immediately able to pick up the infant and secure him.”

Spell said it is still unclear if the boy was injured in the car collision or when the suspect was tackled to the ground.

The boy was taken to a nearby hospital and treated for a small fracture to his skull.

He also reportedly tested positive for fentanyl and cocaine and was later handed over to his mother.

Meanwhile, the police said they recovered drugs, cash, and unloaded gun magazines in his vehicle.
