Ukrainian Ammunition Depot Destroyed In Russian Airstrike Amid Negotiations Between Parties
This video allegedly shows Russian forces destroying a Ukrainian ammunition depot in an airstrike.
The video was shared by the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation on Monday, 14th March, and obtained by Newsflash.
It accompanied the video with the text: “The crews of attack aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces destroyed the ammunition depot of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“The airstrike was delivered by a pair of Su-25 attack aircraft with missile weapons.
“After performing the combat use, the aircraft returned to their home airfield. According to the results of objective control, the target was destroyed.”
The footage comes amid reports of Russian forces shelling a block of flats and a factory in the Ukrainian capital Kyiv.
Representatives from both sides are due to meet shortly in a bid to end over a fortnight of fighting.
Both Moscow and Kyiv have said that progress was made during negotiations over the weekend.
The UK has said that Russian naval forces currently control Ukraine’s Black Sea coast, thereby cutting the country off from maritime trade.
And US officials have claimed that Russia has asked China for military assistance and help in evading sanctions, with the Chinese authorities denying knowledge.
The invasion, dubbed a “special military operation” by the Kremlin, has resulted in a confirmed 596 civilian deaths and 1,067 wounded, according to the UN.
The real figures are believed to be considerably higher.
Fighting has so far resulted in over 2.6 million refugees and over 1.85 million internally displaced persons, still according to the UN.
