Officers from the Fulshear Police Department from the US state of Texas had an interesting alligator encounter, following a video on their Facebook page on Thursday on 12th August.

The video shows the policeman whistling and pointing his flashlight at the reptile standing in the middle of the road, as he tells it to move aside.

After the animal gave the officer a few suspicious looks, it then lethargically moved to the road verge.

Facebook users showed great interest for the video, as some were particularly interested in why the officer kept whistling at the confused gator.

One of them named Sylvia Rychlik, commented: “Why are you whistling at it, it’s not a dog?”

Other users such as Sara Johnson, were grateful the officers are doing their best in order to keep them safe. She said: “You guys and gals are amazing! Thank you!!!”

Additionally, netizen Yolanda Canady Wright joked: “Where is this? They seem to go joy walking around the neighborhood at night.”

The video was viewed over 5,600 times in about 17 hours after it was initially posted.
