Viral Moment Veteran US Marine Single Handedly Disarms Robber At Petrol Station In Arizona

This is the viral moment with over a million views on one platform alone showing a veteran US Marine single-handedly disarming a robber at a petrol station in Arizona.

The footage shows a US Marine veteran disarming the armed robber in a single move and when cops contacted him after the incident he told them that “the Marine Corps taught me not to [mess[ around.”

The incident took place at a Chevron petrol station in the city of Yuma, which is located in south-western Arizona, in the western United States on Wednesday 20th October at about 4:30 AM, according to the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office.

The CCTV footage shows the veteran Marine waiting to buy some ice in a petrol station. But then the door opens and two robbers, one armed with a gun, enter. A third suspect can be seen lingering by the door outside.

The armed robber then appears to point his firearm at the veteran Marine who looks unimpressed and after a split second he goes for the robber’s gun and a fight appears to issue that quickly moves out of frame as the footage ends.

The footage was shared on Facebook by the sheriff’s office, where it has notched up over 1 million views in just a day. The footage has also been doing the rounds on other social media platforms.

The sheriff’s office said: “On Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at approximately 4:30 AM, Deputies responded to an armed robbery report at the Chevron located at 10747 E. North Frontage Road.”

But when the police officers arrived, they learnt that two of the suspects had fled, while the third, who had been armed and who entered the petrol station, had been detained by the Marine vet, who has not been named.

The police said: “The customer was able to detain the suspect he disarmed until law enforcement arrived.

“The suspect detained during the incident was a juvenile and was booked into the Yuma County Juvenile Justice Center for one count of armed robbery and one count of aggravated assault.

“The other two suspects are still currently outstanding.

“No injuries reported from any of the victims. This case remains under investigation.”

The police also said: “When Deputies contacted the customer, who previously served in the United States Marine Corps, and asked how he was able to take control of the situation, he stated, ‘The Marine Corps taught me not to [mess] around.’
