Vulture Takes Off Into The Wild After A Health Check-Up #ZYT OYT
Hopper Mountain National Wildlife Refuge, California, 8 July
A mother condor takes off into the wild after undergoing a biannual check-up at the US Fish and Wildlife Service. A USFWS biologist is seen releasing a condor at Hopper Mountain National Wildlife Refuge in California on Thursday (8th July). The condor takes a moment, shakes her feathers and then takes off, flying away from the camera. The eagle registered by specialists with the code 642 was free to return to her nest after passing her physical health check and receiving a new GPS unit. According to biologists, the GPS will help them to track the predatory bird while she takes care of her little chick.
