Worlds Largest Composite Superyacht Officially Launched In Dubai

The world’s largest luxury composite superyacht has been officially launched in Dubai.

Majesty 175 is the flagship superyacht of Gulf Craft, based in the Emirate of Ajman, one of the seven states of the United Arab Emirates, and was built in the company’s shipyard in Umm Al Quwain.

The official launch marked the end of a five-year effort since the announcement at the Monaco Yacht Show in 2016.

With a length of 54 metres (177 feet) and a beam of 9.6 metres (31.5 feet), the Majesty 175 is Gulf Craft’s largest yacht to date and also the largest composite yacht in the world.

A composite yacht is one where the hull is made of different materials like carbon fibre and vinyl ester, in this case to give greater strength and less weight.

In a statement sent to Newsflash, they said that the yacht “cements the shipyard’s position as a leader on the global superyacht stage”.

Italian designer Cristiano Gatto created the lines for the interior and exterior, while the architecture was provided by Massimo Gregori of the Yankee Delta Studio, who was also responsible for the hull of the Majesty 155.

With a gross tonnage of 780, the Majesty 175 offers accommodations for 14 guests in 7 staterooms. The owner’s suite is situated forward of the upper deck allowing dual side access to a 5-metre-long pool and there are 6 large crew cabins as well as a private captain accommodation.

She is propelled by two fixed pitch six blade propellers powered by twin heavy duty MTU engines 12V 4000 M63 developing 1500kW each. Her onboard electrical supply comes from a pair of 175 kW Kohler generators, and is equipped with two pairs or TRAC fin stabilizers giving it a full speed of 16.5 knots.

At a cruising speed of 10 knots she has a range of 4,000 nm, making her a transoceanic vessel. All safety equipment required for a yacht over 500GT has also been installed including a SOLAS rescue boat and an emergency generator.

The vessel was launched by Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed, the chairman of Dubai Sports Council, at Dubai Harbour after being unveiled last year.

The superyacht took over four years to build and successfully completed a series of trials at sea.

Gulf Craft chairman Mohammed Al Shaali said: “Gulf Craft invested nearly four years of effort in building this vessel, quicker than the normal timeframe, despite the challenges of the pandemic.”

“With the regional premiere of the Majesty 175 at Dubai Harbour, we are reiterating the appeal of the country as a full-fledged yachting destination.”
